An interesting video shows a hyper augmented reality cave. Somehow the video is satire as well. I wonder what the essential things will be that we need to live in the future?

A matter of point of view
Sunday, July 12th, 2009Speaking of points of view, I am always amazed by how different people think and approach problems. And I especially enjoy seeing how daily items can be redesigned by changing a point of view to bring cool new ideas to life. But to create something genuinely new, we have to change our usual perspectives. Design is all about point of view, even down to the smallest detail. By simply looking up or down, we can change our point of view.
Changing view-points is also form of curiosity, a way of looking for a fresh solution or a distinctive experience that can eventually bring something new to life. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy taking photos. It’s surprising how different the world can be if I change my view point and look from behind the camera.
I have two good examples of this: an unconventional short film taken from underneath and neverbarefoot.com, an enjoyable collection of photos of shoes, taken from the perspective of looking down.
A friend of mine is telling me about his metaphorical transparent zoo, a pretty cool philosophical idea. Imagine how weird it would be if all the floors and ceilings were transparent layer after layer of people working, relaxing, going about their daily routine. When we are in a flat in a tower block we feel like we are in our place, we feel at home, but above and below are more families in exactly that same layout of space, doing their own stuff…
We always tend to think we are individuals and different. We are in some aspects, but there are millions others just like us, and doing the same things.
It’s all about taking a micro or macro point of view.

Introducing Shakerboys
Friday, January 23rd, 2009Introducing Shakerboys, animated maracas who make their own music, created by London based collective or audiovisual artists viewmanoid. A fresh and appealing 3D animation made in XSI and complimented by Adobe After Effect. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video, still can’t help to loving it.
